Welcome to our blog! We are in Ft. Myers, visiting with our Florida family about to go on our adventure around Europe. We will fly into Dusseldorf, Germany on Thursday and immediately take a train to Milan then onto Urbania, Italy where I get to participate in a Master Dance Class and my sister will take painting and drawing classes. From there we will be in Florence, back to Milan, Nice, Paris, Brussels, and back to Dusseldorf and then home. Along the way we hope to catch up with the Tour de France and even have tickets to a Women's US/France Olympic soccer game in Glasgow. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts--it is our plan to use this blog to record our trip and stay connected to our friends and family back home. Feel free to check in and leave comments--we will love hearing from you all. Bon voyage!! xoxo

Great post!!!! You guys are going to have so much fun :) Hi to Florida family. Keep on blogging!! XO, DeeDee
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! So glad to hear you are on your way and excited about what's coming! Enjoy that flight tomorrow, it's a long one. But WOW what you will see when you land. I'll be curious to hear what you think of Germany and then your impressions of Italy - if you are awake for that train ride of course! I will have Alex and Luke check in to read and post. We are so excited for you! Keep the pictures coming!!!
ReplyDeleteUrbania seems to be a reasonable distance to Assisi, Sienna, Perugia and possibly San Gimignano - all worth seeing. Assisi being great for the church of St. Francis (and grapa), Sienna is where the legendary horse race occurs in the main square, but also many other historic buildings to see. Perugia is home to the candy brand (Perugina, yum) and San Gimignano is a small town with several historic towers (http://www.sangimignano.com/sstoriai.htm) - good wine country also!! So so excited for you all.
ReplyDeleteI think you looked into it, but the Sienna race is on 7/2/12. Info is below:
